GDC 2011: Bungie’s Next Title to be “Massively Multiplayer Action Game”

Well the rumors were true about Bungie’s next project after leaving the Halo universe and joining publisher Activision. At a GDC event last night the company let a very brief detail about their next project out. They stated they were working on an original massively multiplayer action game with Activision.
David Aldridge who is the lead network engineer for Bungie basically let it be know that yes, their next game is in theory a MMO type game, but it’s NOT WoW in space. No other details were given, and he would not comment on the possible title being “Destiny” that seems to be floating around.
This will be Bungie’s first original IP since they made Halo: CE all those years ago. This will also be the fist title for publisher Activision Blizzard who have a ten year publishing right for all of Bungie’s projects.
So there we have it, we know the theme of their next game and that’s it. Now we can really start to speculate at what the next Bungie game will be like, and they are working with the right company for making a MMO type game.
