Upon its original release in October of 2010, Medal of Honor received very mixed reviews. While the game didn’t necessarily have any glaring issues, its resemblance to other modern first-person shooters led to comparatively poor reception for the first few weeks. Ultimately, these disappointing early reviews resulted in EA’s stock dropping 6% on release day.
However, this initial reception hasn’t deterred Danger Close from working on another Medal of Honor game. In fact, in only a few months, the series reboot has managed to hit over 5 million sales.
Supposedly, the developers have learned a lot from the original October release, and hope to use this information to create a more enjoyable sequel. As with the first game, the next Medal of Honor title will strive to respect the people currently serving in the military.
