Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood [PEGI 18] - The Da Vinci Disappearance Tra...

Up until now, two things have remained true about the downloadable content for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood–it has been free, and it has been focused on multiplayer. Today, Ubisoft invalidated both of those statements with its announcement of “The Da Vinci Disappearance” DLC.

The recently announced downloadable content unsurprisingly follows Ezio as he attempts to rescue Leonardo Da Vinci, who has been kidnapped by the cult of the Hermeticists. This cult wishes to use Leonardo’s intelligence to transform mankind and control the world. In his efforts to save his astute friend, Ezio will travel to two new areas while utilizing two new gameplay features.

While this DLC may be single-player focused, it’s not exclusively single-player–there are some multiplayer elements as well.

One map, two game modes, and four playable characters are what you can expect from this piece of content. The new map, Alhambra, will focus on “multileveled indoor and outdoor areas”. The two new gameplay modes are Assassinate and Escort. Assasinate mode is a generic six to eight player deathmatch, while Escort mode tasks you with protecting your VIP target while also attempting to assassinate that of the opposing team.

The four new playable characters are the Knight, Marquis, Pariah and Dama Rossa.

Ten new achievements will also be included with this DLC. It’s safe to say that “The Da Vinci Disappearance” contains the most content for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood since its initial release back in November.

The Da Vinci Disappearance will be available in the beginning of March for $10 on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
