Minecraft for iOS and Android Coming Later This Year

People with smart phones and iPad’s today is the day you can finally say Minecraft is coming. There have been many unofficial releases of Minecraft on both platforms, but now coming straight from the man himself. In an exclusive interview with Gamasutra — Markus Persson stated that an official Mojang release of Minecraft will coming to iPhone, iPad, along with Android sometime later this year.
The project is being tackled by a new hire for Mojang — Aron Neiminen.
Now of course it won’t be a carbon copy of the PC version, but will get features that “make sense” for a touch controlled version of the game. Now though, the iOS version of the game will not receive every update the PC version will get, but well get updates so don’t worry about that.
Now with Minecraft selling 1.3 million copies of the game to date, it only makes sense to add the game to more platforms to boost sales of the product. So now you will be able to take Minecraft with you anywhere you go, and spend even more time not doing work.
